A video released by the DeKalb County police in Atlanta showed a young man stealing a Yorkie. The man apparently caught on surveillance system picking up a Yorkshire Terrier from the front porch.
It was a Sunday morning on Boulder Rd. when Meredith Mason, the Yorkie owner, became suspicious when she didn’t hear nor see her dog on their porch. According to Mason, it has been a routine for her to let her Yorkie “Spider” stay on their front morning every morning. Little did she know that one fine Sunday, there was no any noise made by Spider. She decided to come out at to their porch and check her dog.
Thinking that her dog might just have run away, Mason used an app to notify her surrounding neighbors. That’s when she knew that her dog was stolen when one of her neighbors said his camera caught a man walking down the street holding a Yorkie.
In the video below, the suspect is believed to be between the ages of 17-20. He has a slim body build, wearing a multi-colored dashiki and with a box-style haircut.
Mason described her Yorkie as “freshly groomed and very friendly”. Spider is an eight-year-old black and brown Yorkshire Terrier. Her owner also told the police that Spider suffers from a condition which causes her hind legs to dislocate. When Spider was taken by the man, he has a chip and wearing a back harness.
Now, Mason is reaching out for help to identify the man who was seen grabbing her Yorkie off their porch. Police told locals as well as Mason’s neighbors that they will do everything to help find Spider. They also warned pet owners to always watch after their pets and do not let them keep off their sight. If necessary, do not let their pets alone outside their house for a long period of time for we can never really tell who’s out there to steal our precious pets.
